Children of Charles Rogers James (1844-1906) of Madison County, Indiana and Tabitha Shields Morton (1844-1919) of Chester, Delaware County, Pennsylvania:

 

1.   Joseph E. James:  born January 20, 1869 in Madison, Jefferson County, Indiana; died May 28, 1878 (aged 9) in Madison, Jefferson County, Indiana; buried at Friends Cemetery, Fall Creek Township, Madison County, Indiana.

 

2.   Morton John James:  born December 22, 1870 in Madison, Jefferson County, Indiana; married in 1901 to Mary Warner (1877-1930); died July 29, 1949 (aged 78) in Baraboo, Sauk County, Wisconsin; buried at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Section A, Baraboo, Sauk County, Wisconsin; known children include: Hazel Mae James, Lottie E. James, Charles H. James, Edith James, Lillian T. James and Margaret James.

 

3.   Benjamin “Bennie” Morton James: born January 14, 1877 in Madison, Jefferson County, Indiana; died May 27, 1878 (age 1) in Madison, Jefferson County, Indiana; buried at Friends Cemetery, Fall Creek Township, Madison County, Indiana.

Charles Rogers James (1844-1906) was the son Joshua James (1818-1900) of Jefferson County, Ohio and Sarah Ann Rogers (1820-1851).
