Children of Thomas James (1768-1839) of Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania and Mary Russell (1786-1861) of Loudoun County, Virginia:

 

1.   Hannah James:  born October 20, 1810 in Round Hill, Loudoun County, Virginia; married Tholemiah Cochran (1810-1877); died October 2, 1894 (aged 83) in Ohio; buried at Adamsville Baptist Cemetery, Adamsville, Muskingum County, Ohio.

 

2.   Matson James:  born 1812 in Round Hill, Loudoun County, Virginia; married Hannah J. Thomas (1812-1887), daughter of Joseph Thomas (1779-1830) and Ruth Janney (1784-1851), died October 21, 1853, buried at Goose Creek Burying Ground, Lincoln, Loudoun County, Virginia; known children include: Isaac Dallas James.

 

3.   Mason James:  born January 7, 1815 in Round Hill, Loudoun County, Virginia; married Patience Nichols (1819-1902); died June 5, 1897 (aged 82) in Round Hill, Loudoun County, Virginia; buried at Ketoctin Baptist Church Cemetery, Purcellville, Loudoun County, Virginia; known children include: Matson James, Eliza R. James, Fleet Henderson James and Alice J. James.

 

4.   Robert James:  born September 22, 1816 in Round Hill, Loudoun County, Virginia; married in 1841 to Winifred Simpson (1814-1885), daughter of John Simpson (1787-1854) and Nancy Smith; died November 8, 1869 (aged 53); buried at North Fork Baptist Church Cemetery, North Fork, Loudoun County, Virginia; known children include: John Thomas James, Charles Fenton James, Emily Anne James, Mary Winifred James, Eliza Pleasant James, William Hughes James, Mayo James, Elizabeth James and Eliza James.

 

5.   Craven James:  born March 8, 1818 in Round Hill, Loudoun County, Virginia; first marriage to Catherine L. Morris (1819-1851), daughter of Mahlon Morris (1772-1859) and Catherine Gideon (1787-1834); second marriage in 1853 to Emily Annette Nichols (1821-1913), daughter of Nathaniel Nichols (1798-1846) and Rachel Chamblin (1800-1887); died December 21, 1894 (aged 76); buried at Ketoctin Baptist Church Cemetery, Purcellville, Loudoun County, Virginia; known children include: Thomas Benton James, Robert James, Virginia Mary James, Sarah C. James, William Matson James and Samuel Rogers H. James.

 

6.   Asa James:  born September 21, 1821 in Round Hill, Loudoun County, Virginia; moved to Marion County, Missouri in 1849; married in 1851 to Susan Virginia Clayton (1828-1908), daughter of Amos Clayton (1789-1929) and Elizabeth Luke (1780-1839) and moved back to Virginia; returned to Missouri in 1852; died December 12, 1909 (aged 88) in Marion County, Missouri; buried at Providence Cemetery, Marion County, Missouri; known children include: Mary Josephine James, Emma James, Katherine Clayton James, Hannah Cochran James, Charles Russell James, Sarah Helen James and Lena Thompson James.

 

7.   Thomas James:  born 1823 in Round Hill, Loudoun County, Virginia; died 1833 in Round Hill, Loudoun County, Virginia; buried at Goose Creek Burying Ground, Lincoln, Loudoun County, Virginia.

 

8.   Mary James:  born August 31, 1825 in Round Hill, Loudoun County, Virginia; married in Leesburg, Virginia to Dr. William Cross (1805-1875), son of James Cross (1767-1850) and Nancy Cross (1769-1848); died January 14, 1879 (aged 53); buried at Union Cemetery, A Lot 138, Site 4, Leesburg, Loudoun County, Virginia; known children include: Lucy Cross, William J. Cross, Mary Cross, Sallie Cross, Lewis Asa Cross and Walter Pinnall Cross.

 

9.   Sarah James:  born 1827 in Round Hill, Loudoun County, Virginia; married January 18, 1848 in Loudoun County, Virginia to Colonel Addison Cochran (1817-1896); died November 25, 1848.

 

10.  Emily James:  born 1831 in Round Hill, Loudoun County, Virginia; died 1834 in Round Hill, Loudoun County, Virginia; buried at Goose Creek Burying Ground, Lincoln, Loudoun County, Virginia..

Notes:

 

Thomas James (1768-1839) was the son of Elias James (1744-1789) and Anna Matson (1746-1827) of Loudoun County, Virginia.
