Children of John James (1814-1863) and Agnes Chambers (1819-1891) of Bedford County, Virginia:

1.   Rhoda Wadkins James:  born March 10, 1842 in Lynchburg, Virginia; appears in 1860 U.S. Census for Beat No. 4, Fannin County, Texas with family (age 18); first marriage to Dr. William Patrick Henry (-1862); second marriage May 12, 1870 to William Henry “Billy” Terry (1845-1873); third marriage November 22, 1875 to Jacob O. “Jake” Gillespie (1851-1881); died December 13, 1929  (aged 87) in Ladonia, Fannin County, Texas; buried at Ladonia Cemetery, Ladonia, Fannin County, Texas.

2.   Mary Ann “Polly Ann” James:  born October 14, 1843 in Virginia; appears in 1860 U.S. Census for Beat No. 4, Fannin County, Texas with family (age 16); married October 1, 1862 in Ladonia, Fannin County, Texas to Jasper Newton Terry (1834-1908); died November 15,1907 (aged 65) in Salem, Marion County, Oregon; buried at Salem Pioneer Cemetery, Plot 175, Salem, Marion County, Oregon; known children include:  Maron Louise Terry, William Bethel Terry, Annie Pauline Terry, Nina Laura Terry, Jasper Blackley Terry, David Anslam Terry, John Clifton Terry, Robert J. Terry and Covey Middleton Terry.

3.   Amanda “Mary J.” James:  born January 19, 1846 in Virginia; appears as “Mary J. James” in 1860 U.S. Census for Beat No. 4, Fannin County, Texas with family (age 14); married William “Bill” Marshall Bagley (1832-1904); died June 24, 1881 (aged 35); buried at Pecan Grove Cemetery, McKinney, Collin County, Texas; known children include: Johnnie Eber Bagley.

4.   Joel Middleton “Mid” James:  born August 5, 1848 in Virginia; appears in 1860 U.S. Census for Beat No. 4, Fannin County, Texas with family (age 12); married Eliza Jane Evans (1853-1930), daughter of William Evans (1823-1899) and Morning Hommer (1833-1910); died February 18, 1929 (aged 80); buried at Rosemound Cemetery, Plot “OP Section 2”, Commerce, Hunt County, Texas; known children include: John Finley James and Mamie Pearl James.

5.   John Henry James:  born circa 1853 in Taylor County, Kentucky; died circa 1853 as an infant.

6.   Elizabeth “Betty” James:  born circa 1853 in Kentucky; married Jackson “Jack” Calhoun Nail (1849-1874), son of William Martin Nail (1827-1875) and Celia May Terry (1826-1906); died circa 1875.

7.   Geneva “Sarah” O’Cane James:  born September 17, 1856 in Ladonia, Fannin County, Texas; appears in 1860 U.S. Census for Beat No. 4, Fannin County, Texas with family (age 4); married February 12, 1884 in Fannin County, Texas to George Dawson Satterwhite (1856-1916), son of Augustus Palmer Satterwhite (1841-1863) and Lovenia Clara Wrenn (1840-1925); died October 9, 1900 (aged 44) in Texas; buried at Old Celina Cemetery, Celina, Collin County, Texas; known children include: James Gaither Satterwhite, Nellie Clara Satterwhite, Leslie Conway Satterwhite, Florine Baggley Satterwhite, Erma Evelyn Satterwhite, Alvis Lowell Satterwhite and George Carl Satterwhite.

8.   Martha E. “Mattie” James:  born November 12, 1858 in Ladonia, Fannin County, Texas; died April 18, 1875 (aged 16).

9.   John Vada James:  born January 1, 1864 in Ladonia, Fannin County, Texas; married May 25, 1882 in Fannin County, Texas to Jonathon Calhoun Clement (1859-1946); died December 15, 1943 (aged 79) in Collingsworth County, Texas; buried at South Fairview Cemetery, Section 9, Row 2, Wellington, Collingsworth County, Texas; known children include:  Edgar Milton Clement, Elmer Cleveland Clement, Shannon Price Clement, Travis C. Clement, Henuau Clement, William Carey Clement, Charlie Clement, Clyde Clement, Houston Roy Clement, James Hampton Clement and David Clement.
