Children of Margaret James (1795-1887) of Harrison County, Virginia and William Pugh (1788-1822):


1.    Hannah Pugh:  born circa 1816 in Jefferson County, Ohio; first marriage February 5, 1835 in Jefferson County, Ohio to William G. Scott; second marriage February 27, 1855 to Joshua Fisher; known children include William G. Scott and Elisha Pugh Scott.


2.    Elisha Benjamin Pugh:  born November 22, 1818 in Pleasant Grove, Belmont County, Ohio; married March 21, 1850 in Belmont County, Ohio to Elizabeth Jane Kay (1832-1915), daughter of James Kay and Elizabeth Fell; died September 8, 1894 in Martins Ferry, Belmont County, Ohio; buried at Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry, Belmont County, Ohio; known children include:  Amanda Jane Pugh, Hannah Isabell Pugh, James Kay Pugh, William Albert Pugh, Charles Benjamin Pugh, Thomas Ellsworth Pugh, Sarah Ida Pugh, Emma Laurena Pugh and George Edwin Pugh.




Margaret James (1795-1887) was the daughter of Samuel James (1754-1812) and Hannah Smith (1758-1844) of Radnor Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania.


Elisha Benjamin Pugh (1818-1894) served as a private in Company “D” of the 74th Battalion of Ohio National Guard from 1863 to 1864 during the Civil War.
