2.    Sarah Ann Leonette (“Leonetta”) Elizabeth James:  born April 12, 1871 in Vinton, Roanoke County, Virginia; married Elijah Huckett Bush (1866-1944), son of Elkanah Bush (1834-1882) and Anna Mariah Bryant (1844-1903); died 1955 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; buried at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma; known children include:  Elizabeth Bush, Jessie Bush, William Bush, Buster Bush, Ione Bush, Geneva Bush, Cecil Bush, Elmer Bush and Elijah Bryant Bush.

 

3.    William Frederick James:  born October 28, 1873 in Vinton, Roanoke County, Virginia; married Araminta Pearl "Minta" Palmer (1874-1957), daughter of Joel T. Palmer (1844-1919) and Rachel Ella Wallace (1852-1937); died October 29, 1957 (aged 84) in Kansas; buried at Fairview Cemetery in Cherryvale, Montgomery County, Kansas; known children include: Esther Hilda James (1899-1996), Wallace McNeil James (1901-1978), Florence Rachel James (1905-unk), Joel Palmer James, Margaret Elizabeth James (1911-unk), Eliabeth “Betty” May James (1913-2013).

 

4.    Charles Elmer Spurgeon James:  born March 18, 1880 in Roanoke District, Halifax County, Virginia; married to Dora Mae Crow (1884-1947), daughter of Albert Maywood Crow (1858-1925) and Margaret Ann Cooley (1861-1936); died May 28, 1957 (aged 77) in Pampa, Gray County, Texas; buried at Riverside Cemetery, Block G, Lot 643, Space 3 in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas; known children include: Glen Elmer James (1905-1962), Alice Mae James (1907-2004), Jack Spurgeon James (1908-1983), Donald James (1910-1911), Doroth Elizabeth James (1911-1995) and Charles Eugene "Gene" James (1923-1988).

 

5.    Maude Deleilah James:  born in May 1882 in Virginia; married William Bernard Lloyd Carson (1880-1974) son of John Carson (1844-1927) and Rachael Frances Truax (1852-1907); died April 29, 1930 (aged 47) in Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico; known children include Chester Bernard Carson (1904-1978) and John Virgil Carson.

 

6.    Claude Hurlburt James:  born October 11, 1885 in Hutchinson, Reno County, Kansas; first marriage December 16, 1903 in Allen, Kansas to Rhoda C. Edmunds (1886-1911), daughter of Edward Edmunds (1859-1945) and Sarah Jane Beatty (1861-1933); second marriage to Carrie Jane Nichols (1888-1977); died October 27, 1969 (aged 84) in Redlands, San Bernardino County, California; buried at Woodlawn Cemetery, Section 10, Lot 29, Space 9 in Independence, Jackson County, Missouri; known children through Rhoda C. Edmunds include:  Manoah R. James, John Paul James and Claude Rhoda James; known children through Carrie J. Nichols include: Lewis Frederick James, Frank O. James, Virginia James, Helen James, Jessie Boy James and Geneva James.

John McNeil James (1843-1931) was the son of Maston James (1803-1858) and Delilah Thrasher (1811-1889) of Roanoke County, Virginia.
