1.    Rachel Ann James: born February 29, 1840 in Tuscarawas County, Ohio, married July 21, 1858 in Smyrna, Guernsey County, Ohio to Benjamin Crew Nicholson (1838-1919), son of Charles Lukens Nicholson (1813-1873) and Narcissa H. Crew (1819-1886); died May 3, 1927 (aged 87) in Oskaloosa, Mahaska County, Iowa; burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Section 4, Lot 29, Superior, Nuckolls County, Nebraska; known children include: Harvey Crew Nicholson, Leslie J. Nicholson, Walter S. Nicholson, Emma Nicholson, Virda Nicholson and Mary Nicholson.

 

2.    Samuel James: born March 15, 1842 in Guernsey County, Ohio, married December 5, 1872 in Mahaska County, Iowa at Coal Creek Monthly Meeting to Julia McDonald (1847-1925), daughter of William McDonald (1819-1901) and Isabella Carson (1821-1855); died February 18, 1904 in Mahaska, Iowa; buried at (Old) White Cemetery at the north edge of Oskaloosa, Mahaska County, Iowa; no known children.

 

3.    Joseph McDonald James: born May 30, 1844 in Londonderry, Guernsey County, Ohio, married December 29, 1870 to Sarah Luisa Jones (1852-1920); died 1923; buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, “Victory Plot”, Glendale, Los Angeles County, California.

 

4.    Sarah Elizabeth James: born August 19, 1849 in Smyrna, Guernsey County, Ohio, married December 20, 1866 in Oskaloosa, Mahaska County, Iowa to Immer Needham Knight (1838-1898), son of Hiram Knight and Ann Crabtree; died March 15, 1926 (aged 76) in Oskaloosa, Mahaska County, Iowa; buried at Forest Cemetery, Oskaloosa, Mahaska County, Iowa; known children include: Margaret Alice Knight, Mary Elizabeth Knight, Julia Lillian Knight, Meda Ann Knight and Nellie Bernice Knight.

 

5.    Martha “Mattie” Lucretia James: born November 26, 1851 at Smyrna, Guernsey County. Ohio; married April 30, 1879 in Oskaloosa, Mahaska County, Iowa to Benjamin Delos Goodner (1852-1917); died 1895; buried at New Sharon Friends Cemetery, New Sharon, Mahaska County, Iowa; known children include: Clifford William Goodner, Walter J. Goodner, Omer D. Goodner and Lenna O. Goodner.

6.    William Carson James: born January 3, 1860 in Smyrna, Guernsey County, Ohio; married April 13, 1892 in Dwight, Morris County, Kansas to Amy Rebecca Hodgin (1868-1938), daughter of Stephen Hodgin and Sarah Milhouse; died December 23, 1937 (aged 77) in Fairhope, Baldwin County, Alabama; buried at Fairhope Friends Quaker Cemetery, Fairhope, Baldwin County, Alabama; known children include: Walter S. James and Eva Rachel James.

David James (1816-1900) was the son of George James (1786-1844) of Washington County, Pennsylvania and Sarah Barber (1790-1844).
