1.    Eugene Edgar James, Sr.:  born August 30, 1863 in Millfield, Athens County, Ohio; married October 15, 1887 in Perry County, Ohio to Elizabeth Gertrude Stalter (1868-1936), daughter of William Stalter and Jane Rose; died December 25, 1944 in Nelsonville, Athens County, Ohio; buried December 27, 1944 at Sunset Cemetery, Masonic Section, Galloway, Franklin County, Ohio; known children include:  Eugene Edgar James, Jr., Ralph James, Clarence Stanley James, Sr., Cyrus Stalter James, Clifford Custer James, Alice James, Florence James and Edna E. James.

 

2.    Charles C. James:  born May 30, 1867 in Millfield, Athens County, Ohio; married January 7, 1888 in Perry County, Ohio to Mary Louise Watkins (1868-1939), daughter of George Washington Watkins (1839-1915) and Marcella Hatton (1846-1884); died May 5, 1935 (aged 67) in Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio; buried at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville, Athens County, Ohio; known children include: Tessie E. James and Charles Dow James.

 

3.    Albert James:  born August 1862; died March 1901 (aged 38) in Ohio; buried at Greenlawn Cemetery, Section 9, Nelsonville, Athens County, Ohio.

Biographical Notes:

 

Cyrus Matson James (1838-1910) was the son of William Scott James (1804-1850) of Loudoun County, Virginia and Sarah Bagley (1810-1879).

 

Eugene Edgar James (1863-1944) is reported on the 1920 Federal Census as living in Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio. He is reported to be 56 years of age with the following children still living at home: Son Clifford (age 24), Ralph (?), and Clarence.  On the 1930 Federal Census census Eugene is reported living in Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio, age 66 with wife Elizabeth.
