1.    Clark Hester James:  born July 11, 1890 in Palo Pinto County, Texas; married circa 1922 to Iva Mae Lauderdale (1905-1999), daughter of Elbert Brown Lauderdale (1878-1937) and Mary Jane Ferguson (1885-1973); died December 7, 1972 (aged 82) in Mineral Wells, Palo Pinto County, Texas; buried at Elmwood Cemetery, Mineral Wells, Palo Pinto County, Texas; known children include: Billy Jack James (1922-1967) and Dorothy Lovene James (1926-1927).

 

2.    William L. James:  born circa 1901 in Palo Pinto County, Texas; died December 19, 1922 (aged 20–21) in Dallas, Dallas County, Texas; buried at Elmwood Cemetery, Mineral Wells, Palo Pinto County, Texas; no known children.

 

3.    Oreta Florence James:  born March 17, 1904 in Palo Pinto County, Texas; first marriage August 14, 1924 in Navarro, Navarro County, Texas to David Dee Turner (1899-1966), son of Jesse Chrestian Turner (1867-1944) and Rosa Childress (1876-1951); second marriage to Robert Elbert Crowe (1899-1954), son of Robert Columbus Crowe (1872-1948) and Annie Miller Wester (1871-1956); died April 15, 1995 (aged 91) in Bedford, Tarrant County, Texas; buried at Elmwood Cemetery, Mineral Wells, Palo Pinto County, Texas; known children include: Leonard Dwight Turner (1924-1972), Britton David Turner (1925-1997), James “Jim” Elbert Crowe (born 1937), Roberta A. Crowe and Pat Crowe.

 

4.    Simon Cleo James:  born January 10, 1905 in Strawn, Palo Pinto County, Texas; married September 20, 1932 in Hood County, Texas to Margaret Vida Cecillia Besse (1907-1985), daughter of Joseph Ernest Besse (1871-1961) and Susan Alice Whitfill (1874-1968); died October 22, 1954 (aged 49) in Mineral Wells, Palo Pinto County, Texas; buried at Elmwood Cemetery, Mineral Wells, Palo Pinto County, Texas; no known children.

 

5.    Tilmon Thurman James, Sr.:  born September 16, 1909 in Palo Pinto County, Texas; first marriage in 1934 to Dorthea Smith (1912-2009), daughter of Thomas Boone Smith (1881-1962) and Sallie Cleveland Woodward (1884-1976); second marriage July 24, 1954 in California to Daris E. Evans (1917-2002), daughter of Woodie W. Evans (1876-1954) and Stella Raby (1895-1980); died March 25, 1993 (aged 83) in Mineral Wells, Palo Pinto County, Texas; buried at Sturdivant Cemetery, Plot D1 #66 in Sturdivant, Palo Pinto County, Texas; known children include: Tilmon Thurman James, Jr., Clarita James, Maunie Lou James, Marilyn James and Dottie Kay James.

 

6,    Floyd Dwight James:  born August 13, 1913 in Mineral Wells, Palo Pinto County, Texas; married September 6, 1934 in Young County, Texas to Ruth Maurine Hopkins (1917-1995), daughter of James Andrew Hopkins (1870-1934) and Nancy Rebecca Tucker (1879-1940); died March 18, 1954 (aged 40) in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas; known children include: Jana James (born 1935), Sharon Jean James (1936-1995), James James (born 1937), Nancy Carolyn James (1939-2005).

 

7.    Delphine Marie James: born May 27, 1916 in Mineral Wells, Palo Pinto County, Texas; married Arthur Sodd (1912-1996), son of Esau Sodd (1870-1921) and Masoda Sodd (1881-1955); died February 16, 1982 (aged 65) in North Richland Hills, Tarrant County, Texas; buried at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas; known children include: Deborah Dell Sodd (born 1948).

Leroy Campbell James (1858-1937) was the son of William George James (1832-1908) of Bedford County, Virginia and Lucinda Elizabeth “Betty” Whaley (1835-?).
