Children of Isaac Daniel James (1770-1853) and Mary Elizabeth “Polly” James (1774-1864) of Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania:

 

1.    Aaron James:  born in Bedford County, Virginia.

 

2.    Elias James:  born September 22, 1797 in Bedford County, Virginia; first marriage on February 23, 1823 in Bedford County, Virginia to Nancy Bandy (1806-1846), daughter of Richard Bandy (1771-1856) and Nancy Lewellen (1775-circa 1850); second marriage on September 9, 1853 to Agnes Susan Preston (1830-1871); died April 25, 1870 (aged 72) in Bedford County, Virginia; known children through Nancy Bandy include:  Leroy Campbell James, Mary Anna James, Maslin James, Isaac Lafayette James, Jockey Richmond James, Martin Van Buren James, Nancy Ann James, Celia Elizabeth James, Susan Emily James, Amanda Elmira James and Samuel Elias James; known children through Agnes Susan Preston include:  Matson James, Joel B. James, Rosann James and B. James, Thomas M. James and Charles Ballard James.

 

3.    Mary Anna James:  born October 20, 1799 in Bedford County, Virginia; married November 17, 1817 in Bedford County, Virginia to Samuel Irving West (1793-1889), son of George West (1755-1845) and Sarah “Sallie” James; died April 24, 1890 (aged 91) in Bedford County, Virginia; known children include: George W. West, Mary Ann West, Ivan James West, Susan E. West, Isaac L. West, Green Matson West, William Daniel West, Van Buren West, North West and  Sarah Tamson West.

 

4.    Hannah M. James:  born 1800; married September 26, 1827 in Bedford County, Virginia to John Henry Neighbors (1791–1860), son of James Neighbors (1766-unk) and Nancy Ann Bandy (1770-1795); known children include: Joshua Bass Neighbors.

 

5.    Susan James:  born March 1, 1802 in Bedford County, Virginia; married August 24, 1824 in Bedford County, Virginia to Peter Meador Wright (1802-1860), the son of Matthew Wright (1776-1841) and Nancy Holland (1783-1849); died January 24, 1876 (aged 73) in Bedford County, Virginia; known children include: Eliza Ann Wright, Elizabeth A. Wright, Louisa Frances Wright, Martin Van Buren Wright, Mary Jane Wright, Thomas Benton Wright, James Mathew Wright, Nancy Ann Wright, Peter Meador Wright, Jr., Susan Julia Wright, Stephen Wood Wright and Joel Wilson Wright.

 

6.    Mary Elizabeth “Betsy” James:  born 1803 in Bedford County, Virginia; married February 18, 1822 in Bedford County, Virginia to Elijah Washington Howell (1799-1864), son of Jesse Howell (1775-1855) and Hannah James (1772-1852); died January 8, 1882 (aged 78) in the town of Moulton, Appanoose County, Iowa; buried in Orleans Cemetery, Moulton, Appanoose County, Iowa; known children include: Isaac Jackson Howell, Craven Shelby Howell, Mary Susan Virginia Howell, James David Howell, Emily Anna Howell, Madison Van Buren Howell and Aaron Howell.

 

7.    Matson James:  born circa 1808 in Bedford County, Virginia; married January 1, 1831 in Bedford County, Virginia to Emily Chesterson Rucker; died November 17, 1876 (aged 68) in Bedford County, Virginia.

 

8.    Isaac Daniel James, Jr.:  born circa 1817 in Bedford County, Virginia; married October 6, 1842 in Bedford County, Virginia to Adaline Frances Calvert (1818-1856); died 1898 in Bedford County, Virginia; known children include: Nancy Anna James, Pocahontas Rebecca James, Mary “Molly” C. James, Susan Elizabeth “Betty” James and Sally Francis James.

Notes:

 

Isaac Daniel James (1770-1853) was the son of Elias James (1744-1789) and Anna Matson (1746-1827) of Upper Marion Township, Pennsylvania and later Loudoun County, Virginia.  

 

Mary Elizabeth “Polly” James (1774-1864) was the daughter of Daniel James (1750-1817) and Susanna Bealert of Upper Marion Township, Pennsylvania and later Bedford County, Virginia.
